    Abstract

    the problem of controlling shunt active power filters (APF) is addressed in presence of nonlinear loads. A Backstepping controller (BC) is proposed for active power filter (APF) in this paper. Firstly, the dynamic model for APF is build in which both the system parameter variations is considered. Then, the Backstepping method is applied in the design of current control system to deal with the nonlinearity of APF, and the proportional-integral correction to the voltage loop has been developed.
