    Abstract

This paper aims to develop a heuristic for the virtual machines migration problem in geographically distributed cloud data centers. The algorithm objective is to find a migration sequence of virtual machines with the minimum cost corresponding to the backbone traffic. Our heuristic consists of finding at each iteration the order of migration that minimizes the maximum traffic between the two considered data centers. Computational results show that the proposed heuristic is rapid and efficient.
