    Abstract

    Normal Distribution Transform (NDT) is a registration algorithm very used in many fields. Its main idea consists in modeling clouds (points sets) with a set of Gaussian distributions generated by discretizing each points set into voxels. This algorithm gives a good transformation estimation if a point and its neighbors represent a planar and linear patch. In light of this fact, this paper presents a new way to apply NDT on 3D registration problem.
